Garden Centre Reviews

The outdoor plants area at the Dukeries is pleasantly laid out with no
regimented criss-cross paths. Running alongside the area were a series of greenhouse
sales areas which were partly populated with plants.
The paths were wide in most places, fine for wheelchairs, with only a few easily navigated slopes. It had all been kept clean and tidy.
There were lots of overhead signs indicating where particular groups of plants could be found. Plants were also sub-grouped, on some occasions, in to specific growing growing conditions (full, sun, part shade etc).
The range of plants was good, Notcutts claim up to 3,000 types of hardy plants. They were all covered by the Notcutts 2 year guarantee.
The plants were in good condition and well-watered. All the normal varieties of plants can be found at the Dukeries and some unusual ones as well. There was a particularly good range of rhododendrons and azaleas when we visited. Staff were plentiful and appeared extremely knowledgeable about the plants. There was a good information house in the outdoor area.
The prices at Notcutts Dukeries were slightly above average according to our shopping basket although the spade at only 10.00 represented particularly good value.
