Acer palmatum is a deciduous small tree which has deep red-purple leaves which turn brilliant red in Autumn (fall). A goood choiice if you want the typical red acer colour all year round.
Bloodgood produces small reddish flowers in May time and usually produces attractive seed pods with red wings. This acer is readily available both online and in the shops.
