When grown outside of its native area, this oak species is normally grafted onto the roots of more common oak species. This allows the trees to grow far quicker than those grown from seed

The Hungarian Oak tree is native to Rumania, Southern Italy and the
Balkans but it is also frequently found in parks and arboretum of North America and Europe.
It grows slowly to an eventual height of about 30m (100ft).
